I took these photos a few weeks ago when we were still experiencing gorgeous weather in Cape Town, back when my washing didn't need two weeks to dry. Courtney and I took a huge bag of popcorn to this beautiful, overgrown area just a few streets away from where I stay and danced in the fields and hung out in the flowers talking about how boys are assholes. It was so quiet and there was no one around.
Now it's back to freezing nights and a flooded parking lot and work and coffee and emails and admin and practising and writing and trying not to eat Mac Donald's because it's too cold to get out of bed to cook anything, always.
I've got my Schengen Visa appointment tomorrow morning so I must wake up at the crack of dawn to get into town before the crazy traffic. Just over two weeks until I leave. Erp! I'm thinking I might plan a few days in Berlin too, mainly because I want to find a Doc Martens store to wallow in, is that a bad form of motivation? What, am I supposed to be lured there by promises of lovely architecture and art museums and jazz clubs? Just kidding, of course, who doesn't want those things. Anyway there's supposed to be one in Hamburg too, so we'll see.
Grateful for work and good friends, and ready-made sandwiches from Woolworths.
